Clean, lean and low-sweeping lines on the 1959 Chrysler Windsor accented a style so fresh that it became considered to be an industry standard. The beautiful styling perfectly complemented the fashionable “living room world of spaciousness” that featured throughout the car’s interior. The 1959 Chrysler Windsor provided all of the style, roominess and power that one could want in a car of this period. The ‘Golden Lion’ 383-cid, 305-hp V-8 engine is matched to a pushbutton TorqueFlite automatic transmission and moves the Windsor along at a strong pace. It is a superb blend of grace and economy that masters the miles with ease. It is easy and fun to put distance behind it as you relax behind the wheel.
This beautiful example is one of only a reported 961 similar cars built in 1959. The white finish is beautifully presented and looks “just right” with its red interior and gorgeous chrome wire wheels with whitewall tires. A red top boot is also fitted to the Windsor for a clean and finished look for when the top is retracted. Additional features include individual split front seats with center armrest, seatbelts, AM radio, power brakes, spare and jack. The engine bay is presented in a similar tidy fashion as the rest of the Chrysler. The car also displays exceptional and distinct brightwork and the tailfins that defined this era of American car. Its overall presentation is confirmed by a “Best in Class” award at a 2011 show in Newport, Rhode Island. Over 18-feet of clean-carved rolling sculpture is ready to leap into action at your command.
