Styling was carefully updated under GM design chief Bill Mitchell with a subtle new grille design, while the new rear end treatment foreshadowed the upcoming Sting Ray with a neat ducktail design incorporating four cylindrical taillights. In addition, the growing list of standard equipment now included a tachometer, seatbelts, sunvisors, dual exhaust, carpet, an electric clock, outside rearview mirror and an aluminum radiator.

This nicely restored Corvette is finished in red with white coves, both tops (soft-top and removable hardtop) and a matching red interior. It is powered by a 283-cid, 270-hp V-8 engine with an optional (for 1961) four-speed manual transmission. The drivetrain is reported as correct for this car. Power windows are rare for this model year (698 cars) and a nice surprise; this car also features wide whitewall tires with chrome factory wheel covers with spinners. Only 10,939 Chevrolet Corvettes were built in 1961; all were convertibles.
