During the Great Depression, General Motors invested $26 million dollars to launch the Marquette. Total production saw 35,007 of these built with 27,821 of these being sold in the United States. Shortly after producing the Marquette, production was ended.
This fine example of the Marquette marque was stripped to bare metal in 2011 and was completely repainted; including the chassis. The current owner states that the car is capable of cruising at 60-mph with a top speed of 70-mph. The wood and the interior are described as being 'like new.'
Recently, the car has had over $12,000 invested in it. The servicing includes the parts to follow: rebuilt transmission; replaced all five whitewall tires; wood spokes oiled; running board rubber replaced; windshield motor and arm repaired; turn signals installed on the cowl and rear fender; exterior mirrors; replaced exterior spare tire cover; upholstered the rear rumble seat; repaired the odometer, speedometer and fuel gauge; and a custom all-weather car cover for storage.
