There were many improvements in 1941 and additional standard equipment for the Special Deluxe included a deluxe steering wheel with horn ring, stainless steel hood moldings and window reveal moldings as well as a chrome plated license plate lamp. This year would also mark the last year of full automobile production before World War II. Correspondingly, Spencer Tracy was selected as America’s favorite movie star, and as part of a Chevrolet promotional contest, was given a new 1941 Chevrolet.
This convertible is properly outfitted with an inline six-cylinder engine with a single barrel carburetor and a column-shifted manual transmission. The gray exterior is emphasized by polished brightwork, full fender skirts, parking lights, gravel shields on the rear fenders, polished wheel covers and whitewall tires. The convertible top is finished with a black Haartz cloth. The front seat pleated upholstery is finished in blue along with a rear blue bench seat and color-keyed carpeting. The woodgrain dash and door trim are in impeccable condition. Also adorning the interior is a pushbutton radio, electric clock and a factory cabin heater.
Included with the purchase of this car is an owner’s manual and shop manual. The restoration on this 1941 Chevrolet was completed over 20 years ago, and in 1993 this car won its AACA National First Prize at Hershey. It still shows in show-competing condition and is reported to be a great running car, which will make the next owner most satisfied.
