The 1949 Ford model would be the first all-new design introduced by Ford since the war. This model was produced through 1951 and they quickly received the nickname “Shoebox Ford.” Advertised as “50 Ways Finer,” the 1950 Fords introduced many improvements over their groundbreaking 1949 predecessors. New rotary door latches with pushbutton handles replaced pull-type openers, and the gas filler cap was relocated behind an access door. Most obvious were new parking lights, and a revised trunk handle.
This shoebox Ford has the famous and desirable flathead V-8 engine that is connected to a three-speed manual transmission. The black paint is shown nicely, and matched by a black and red two-tone interior. The exterior is emphasized with fender skirts and red steel wheels wrapped with whitewall tires. The interior is personalized with bench seats, dash mounted clock and a pushbutton radio.
