The Checker Motors Corporation is most notably known for their extensive taxicab fleets in larger cities in the 1960s, '70s and '80s. In addition to their taxicabs, Checker also offered non-taxicabs or “civilian” vehicles. In 1973, Checker offered potential buyers a station wagon which fell under their Marathon Six or Eight series. For the 1973 model year, Checker produced only 5,900 cars, of those an estimated 900 were non-taxicabs. Checker Motors Corporation produced cars through 1982.

This 1973 Checker Marathon Station Wagon is presented in yellow with accenting brightwork, a luggage rack and driver’s sideview mirror. The car rides on thin whitewall tires with full wheel covers. The interior is completed in brown vinyl featuring front and rear bench seating which offers passenger seating for six. The front bench seat features headrests for the driver and passenger.
