Traditional Jeep dependability was regarded as a constant throughout the Jeep line; the kind of dependability backed by over 30 years of automotive excellence in 1968. The aura of trustworthiness is the kind that you can expect only from the largest and most experienced manufacturer of four-wheel drive vehicles. Tough frames and high-strength bodies allowed Jeep to take the punishing effects of rugged off-road driving and provided the valued customer greater protection on the highway and added soundness to the platform.

This documented 1968 Jeep Wagoneer 4x4 has been featured on Wayne Carini’s TV series, Chasing Classic Cars (DVD of show included), the vehicle has had one longtime owner and is accompanied by the original bill of sale from Dennett & Popp Dodge, Inc. in East Hartford, Connecticut, the original title to first owner Aldo Oliva from East Hartford, Connecticut April 3, 1968, plus all original service documents, maintenance booklets, owner’s manual with owner notes, sales brochure and paint chip numbers included.

The Dennett & Popp Dodge invoice (No. 10219) is also dated April 3, 1968 and shows that Mr. Oliva traded in a 1959 Dodge Sierra Wagon and with trade-in paid $4,857.30 for the new Wagoneer. In the new car category; it conveys that the dealership installed Warn hubs, radio (Jeep AM), locking gas cap and undercoating. The Wagoneer is driven by its original Buick 350-cid V-8 Dauntless engine ($210.95 accessory charge), automatic transmission ($266.78), fresh air heater and defroster, power steering and alternator. The Buick 350 was used by Kaiser-Jeep and AMC Jeep in the Jeep Gladiator and Wagoneer models from 1968 to ‘71; in these applications, the engine was termed as the "Dauntless V-8".

The Jeep has received a top quality recent repaint in the original color of President Red, while the interior is reported as being all original and like new. The odometer shows just less than 31,000 miles; other attributes include significant mechanical reconditioning and improvements to ensure reliable driving, new fuel tank and fuel lines, new brakes and master cylinder and a new radiator and aftermarket engine cooling fan to ensure the V-8 Dauntless will not overheat.

Outdoor fans take note, with the Jeep Wagoneer you can own a vehicle that will take you and your friends hunting, fishing and camping. Transporting gear over rough terrain to snowy campsites, sandy beaches and mountainous roads. After a quick wash, the Jeep Wagoneer can serve the family as its number one car in style.
