The Cadillac XLR offered here is a rarely seen Neiman Marcus Limited Edition automobile. With the introduction of the new XLR coming, Neiman Marcus wanted one of these special roadsters for their Christmas catalog. Cadillac built 101 limited edition XLR’s specifically for the catalog; and it was only available for purchase through the 2003 Neiman Marcus Christmas catalog. This Cadillac featured special Ultra Violet exterior paint with a two-tone shale and ebony interior. It is reported that when the car was featured in the catalog on October 15, 2003 it sold out in less than 15 minutes. This set a record for any fantasy gift vehicle Neiman Marcus showcased in its annual Christmas catalog.

Each of the 101 special XLR’s received an engraved sill plate designating what production number the car is. Out of the 101 that were made, two of them were actioned to benefit charities. This Cadillac is number 49 out of 101 built. Under the hood of this sportscar is a 278 cubic inch, 320 horsepower Northstar V-8 engine. The transmission in this balanced car is a Hydra-Matic 5L50-E that is designed to handle high torque and horsepower outputs. The car is also equipped with driver control shift which allows the driver to manually override the automatic shifting. This XLR is fitted with a retractable hardtop which is stowed in less than 30 seconds with the touch of a button. As one would expect with a Cadillac product, it is completely loaded with dual climate control and numerous power amenities.
