A remarkable automobile, the Ford Model T was more than just an invention – it changed the way Americans lived. A cultural icon, Henry Ford’s proud little motor car awakened a nation to a faster and more reliable use of transportation.

The Model T was the most affordable and attainable car on the road and would become the benchmark automobile for the Ford Motor Car Company, entering the relatively small and innocuous car company into the world market.

Over the years Ford continued to add further improvements to their line, and they began this move by shifting the steering wheel from the right-hand side of the car to the left. Even more impressive was its engine, as the 20 hp allowed for top speeds of over 40 miles per hour. Overall, they were great cars and the public responded, mostly by buying the Model T for the ensuing two decades.

The Model T presented here is a beautifully restored example. It is painted the original color of the time, dark green with black and red detailing. The brass accoutrements are brilliant and abundant, restored correctly and without fault, and offer a lovely contrast to the green paintwork. The wood trim is in excellent condition throughout, as are the gauges, including the Stewart Speedometer.

A National First Prize winner at the AACA National Meet in 2002, this Ford, nearly a century old, still remains a piece of genuine automotive history.
