This 2000 Cadillac DeVille DHS was originally purchased by the late decorated U.S. Veteran, accomplished NASA Astronaut and Ohio Senator John Glenn. Delivered in Bronzemist, the car was purchased with nearly $7,500 in additional options, most notably Cadillac’s Night Vision system which utilized cutting-edge infrared technology to aluminate objects ahead of the car at night. The Cadillac is powered by a 4.6-liter, 32-valve 275-hp Northstar V-8 engine which is paired to a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The interior is completed in Neutral Shale leather interior with Zebrano wood trim. It features 12-way power front seats with massaging lumbar, optional on-board CD-ROM based navigation system, 8-speaker Bose sound system with AM/FM radio, cassette and six-disc CD. Front and rear passenger comfort is taken into consideration with tri-zone climate control as well as heated front and rear seats. In addition, the car features a Bluetooth system, which when activated, responds using John Glenn’s recording.

The current owner purchased this Cadillac from John Glenn in January of 2006, promising to care for the car until his passing. Roughly one year following the purchase the car was retired to storage, where it has been impeccably maintained since. Included with the car is the original window sticker, owner’s manual, copy of John Glenn’s title as well as an autographed picture.

At the time of its release, this fully-loaded 2000 Cadillac DeVille DHS was a very technologically advanced vehicle. It’s only fitting that the first American to orbit the Earth, John Glenn, chose to own one.
