With the introduction of the Silver Shadow in late 1965, Rolls-Royce embraced monocoque chassis design for the first time along with much more modern styling than the Silver Cloud III that it replaced. Powered by the 6,230-cc V-8 introduced in 1959 in the Silver Cloud II and soon enlarged to 6,750-cc, the Silver Shadow was shorter, lower and narrower with four-wheel independent self-leveling hydraulic suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. It was also the first Rolls-Royce to use a “straight through” body design. Some Rolls-Royce owners were initially reticent about the changes but the car itself was faster and had a more comfortable ride, better brakes and superior handling.

This classic Rolls-Royce is presented with two-tone paintwork that consists of gold and bronze. This car was purchased new by Sidney Kalikow, a well-known New York City builder. The current (second) owner purchased the car from his estate in 2007, with a reported 6,000 miles. The interior is completely original & shows “as new,” with little or no wear on the leather seats & plush carpeting featuring tinted windows, power windows and an in-dash radio. This luxurious car has power steering, power brakes and air conditioning. Underneath the bonnet is a 6.75-liter V-8 engine with 189 horsepower. Connected to the engine is a smooth four-speed automatic transmission. Also included with the purchase of the car is the original owner’s manual. Currently has a New York State inspection, the owner states older ones are available documenting the mileage. The car has been continually garaged and has recently had the entire brake system replaced. Included with the car are the original manuals, copy of the original title, the Rolls-Royce Owner Identification card, service book, the original Rolls-Royce Warranty, as well as many other papers that were delivered to the new owner.

The car is believed to have a mere 7,000 original miles, but please note that the title states the mileage as exempt.
