This 1961 Chevrolet Corvette has an amazing provenance that is filled with numerous awards from the top shows around the country. In 1995 this Corvette won the Duntov Mark of Excellence Award. This award is highly coveted and requires attendance of at least three events in three years. Just over 1,000 Corvettes have claimed this award that requires at least a 97 out of 100 percent score. Also in 1995 this Corvette was made Bloomington Gold Certified (#2428). Another award that this prestigious car has won is the NCRS Top Flight award. All of these awards are crucial in crediting that a Corvette was restored as close to factory specifications as possible. In 1995, this Corvette also achieved the AACA Hershey National First Prize.
The exterior of this Corvette is finished with lovely white paint, coves and a matching convertible top. Also highlighting the outside is excellent brightwork, wide whitewall tires and factory wheel covers. The interior is tailored in red and features an AM radio. Under the hood of this American sports car is a 283 cubic inch V-8 engine that is fueled by a single four-barrel carburetor. The valve covers on the engine are signed by the famous Zora Duntov. Transferring the power to the rear wheels is a factory three-speed manual transmission.
The owner states that this Corvette is correct and drives excellent. It is also stated that it has been very well maintained and in “original condition” with 67,000 miles, that are believed to be original to the car.
