Dr. Ferry Porsche strongly pursued the idea that man should be able to transport himself in an exquisite piece of machinery that offered enormous safety, ease and control. Leonardo da Vinci was considered first an artist, then an engineer. When queried of his thoughts on this supposition, Dr. Porsche is quoted to have replied, “Is there any difference?” The resultant Porsche 911 was a car of incredible balance and performance. The 911 became a multiple race-winning platform that was prepared for success long before venturing onto the racetrack; with ideas and execution.

This spectacular 1971 Porsche 911T has had one owner for much of the past 45-plus years. It was originally sold new to an Eastern Airlines flight attendant. Shortly after purchasing the car she realized it was too much of an expense for her and sold it to the gentleman that the current owner purchased the car from. It is reported as a highly original example that has always been maintained to the highest standards.

This silver over black German sports car is powered by the 2.2-liter, 125-hp horizontally-opposed (flat) six-cylinder engine, which is paired with the optional five-speed manual transmission. Ventilated four-wheel disc brakes, fully functioning air conditioning, Fuchs wheels and Michelin tires are also part of the package, as is a radio. It has just come out of a fresh full bare metal repaint to its original silver color, and the car is instantly recognizable with its fixed stainless steel factory rollbar. All of the seals have been replaced and all of the chrome has been replaced or refinished to the highest standards possible. The gauges have all been refinished so there is no clouding and they are crystal-clear, and all of them operate to factory standards. This Porsche 911T also has had a full service from renowned Porsche specialist, KMW Motorsports. Included with the service was a full compression and leak-down test that verifies the engine is operating at maximum efficiency and performance. A copy of the work that was performed, as well as the compression and leak-down will accompany the car.

In 1971, reliable records indicate that 6,000 examples of the 911T Targa were built with another 11,019 911T Coupes were produced in the same timeframe. The current owner conveys that this fine machine will withstand any level of inspection and scrutiny. A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity will also accompany the car.
