The Porsche type 930 represents an exceptional sports car built by Porsche between 1975 and 1989, and is well known to the public as the 911 Turbo. It was Porsche’s top-of-the-range 911 model for its entire production duration. At the time of its introduction, it was the fastest production car available in Germany. Ferdinand "Ferry" Porsche, who was running the company at the time, handed development of the vehicle over to Ernst Fuhrmann, who adapted the turbo-technology originally developed for the fearsome Penske/Donohue 917/30 Can Am car. These learnings were applied to the 3.0-litre flat six-cylinder from the Carrera RS 3.0, creating what Porsche internally dubbed as 930.

The longevity and vitality of the Porsche 911 family are already legendary. The number built guarantees that they are not a common sight on the highways, yet the figure is large enough to achieve the maturity that continues to set Porsche apart from most other world-class sports cars. The new models consistently revealed important mechanical improvements while drawing on their experience with the rear-engined, air-cooled, all-independent suspended platform to keep it as far ahead of its time as when it was originally conceived. The Turbo version set the standards for which other competitors were judged. This form of Porsche has a heritage in international racing and they set the bar high.

Few options needed to be offered with the 911 (930) Turbo as it was thought to be one of the most completely equipped high performance sports cars in the world at the time of its availability. It combined the luxury of air conditioning and deep pile carpet with the uncanny force of its race-bred turbocharged engine. Presented in Sienna Metallic with a Cork leather interior and accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this fine example has an uncommon factory power sunroof, limited-slip differential, left and right Sport Seats, California equipment, the unmistakable “whale tail” rear spoiler, Fuchs factory wheels, power windows, the aforementioned air conditioning, power steering and power-assisted ventilated four-wheel disc brakes. The horizontally-opposed 2,994-cc, 260-hp turbocharged six-cylinder unit with its four-speed manual gearbox moves the car through a scintillating driving experience that is appreciated by those who love the best performing cars.
