The Mercedes-Benz W113 was created as the replacement for the 300SL and 190SL. This class of Mercedes included the 230SL, 250SL and the 280SL. The 280SL lasted from 1967 to 1971 and was surely an automobile ahead of its time. Many standard features were seen on these roadsters that were uncommon for the time. Standard equipment included fuel injection, power disc brakes at all four corners, radial tires and an electric clock.
This Mercedes-Benz 280SL is sporting lovely silver paint with matching wheel covers, and this car still retains the original removable hardtop. The exterior is embellished with lovely brightwork. Under the bonnet is an inline six-cylinder engine connected to a four-speed manual gearbox. The engine and transmission would benefit from a refresh to bring them back to precise working order. The interior has an aftermarket AM/FM stereo, wood trim and black bucket seats.
