For 1958, the Goggomobil TS 400 two-stroke engine grew to 392-cc and added five horsepower. The TS 400 has a dashboard-operated pre-selector gearbox. It is reported that approximately 540 Goggomobils were sold in the United States in 1958.
This red and white TS 400 is set up for racing and it is presented with the stock suicide-hinged doors that have been stripped of panels and hardware, taped-off headlights, bumpers removed, rollbar system, single seat, racing seatbelts, modern fuel cell, glass is removed (except windshield) and the car exhibits rondels and numbers. The interior setting is primarily in black and the wheels are without covers and mounted with “beefier” tires. The Goggomobil was displayed last year at the Hilton Head Concours D’Elegance and was entered in a special class.
