The Dodge drag racing machine on offer was sponsored by Remsen Dodge of Hazlet, New Jersey along with a myriad of associate sponsors that have logos displayed along the flanks of the racer. This Dodge Charger is reported to be an “NHRA National record holder and winner every year from 1989 to 2001 as a privateer.” We are told that the Shelby ran at the Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Maryland and has been the FF/SA NHRA National record holder for 15 years, and it is also the fastest FF/SA car in the IHRA stock class. It is further reported as one of three cars built by Carroll Shelby and raced by Paul Rossi until 1990. It is said to be a non-VIN car and is considered to be quite rare. The car last ran in DF/S and won its class at the NHRA Supernationals at Raceway Park.

Finished in the colors of Direct Connection, the Dodge has an interior that remains largely original in presentation. Modifications include a tachometer along with additional center dash area gauges by Stewart-Warner for a full complement of instrumentation. Upgrades in pedals, electronics, additional toggle switches, a Powerglide automatic transmission and competition-style shifter are also in evidence. The NHRA Dodge has five-spoke alloy wheels fitted with Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires and is powered by a inline four-cylinder engine that measures 2.2-liters in displacement.
