The 1951 Chevrolet models were the fifth year of GM’s “Advance Design” trucks introduced following WWII. They arrived mid-year 1947 and were radically different from their predecessors. Cabs were roomier and the design was much less upright and boxy. 3100 was the model designation for the light duty 1/2-ton series which rode a 116-inch wheelbase with power supplied by a 216.5-cid, 92-hp inline six-cylinder engine. 1951 models received Ventipane door vent windows in lieu of the previous side cowl vents and brakes were upgraded to duo-serve self-energizing Bendix units.

This eye-catching example has been mildly customized for a period street rod look. Painted dark blue, it is fitted with wide whitewall tires and red rims while the six-cylinder engine has been modified with twin two-barrel carburetors and an Offenhauser manifold for enhanced performance. It is equipped with power steering and an AM/FM radio as well as an aftermarket steering column, chrome bumpers, and an oak pickup bed with oak bed rails; all of which complement the mildly rodded appearance just perfectly. In addition to being a great driver, what better way could there be than to advertise your business with a pickup truck that is sure to catch attention like this one?
