Presented in the classic German racing color of silver; this striking 1970 Volkswagen Beetle has been customized visually and performance-wise. The Porsche-inspired rendition has had a complete body-off restoration. The interior is presented in a custom manner with gray upholstery and trim. It is stated to have benefitted from a complete and total performance upgrade to “a high degree.”

The car features a recently built 2.2-liter Porsche engine that has run sparingly since. The engine has dual Weber 44-mm carbs that were built by famous VW engine builder, Raby Engineering. This unit has been joined to a five-speed manual transmission. Additional features include a “gold series” clutch disc, full-flow oil system, upgrade to programmable electronic fuel injection with an SDS tuning system that allows the driver to fully control the tune of the engine from within the cars confines. Other performance related modifications include a lightened flywheel on the blueprinted, dynamometer tested and dyno tuned engine. A full listing of components and engine upgrades is available upon request to your Auctions America Specialist.

The car is referred to as an “Volks-Porsche” by its owner, as it has many Porsche components that complement this custom car starting with Porsche wheels all around with a slight front-to-rear size stagger. The front and rear fenders are weight-reducing fiberglass and are aerodynamically flared. Additional weight reduction is achieved by replacing stock parts with carbon fiber bumpers and running boards; all of which is designed to optimize your personal driving experience. The resonance from the performance exhaust complements the overall presentation and indicates the performance nature of this machine.

This 1970 “Volks-Porsche” is said to be able to outperform 356 Speedsters and early versions of the vaunted 911. This is an uncommon opportunity to own a true performance-oriented Volkswagen with style.
