For 1958 all Chevrolets used an all-new, one-year only bodyshell shared with Pontiac. It featured a low-slung, X-member frame containing all coil suspension, replacing the previous leaf springs. The ‘58s were longer, lower, wider and heavier than their predecessors. New for 1958 was the top-of-the-line Bel Air Impala available in two-door hardtop and convertible models. Finished in Onyx Black this Impala Sport Coupe has the 348-cid, 315-hp V-8 original to the car. It is equipped with the tri-tone vinyl interior, white sidewall tires, automatic transmission, AM radio, dual mirrors and air conditioning. Its 55,000 miles are believed to be original with documentation.
