The Volkswagen Cabriolet was first introduced in 1979 as the Rabbit Convertible, and 1988-1989 versions are considered to be the pinnacle of Cabriolet design. In 1988 Volkswagen added hydraulic lifters but retained the simpler mechanical CIS fuel-injection system, while power windows became standard the following year. Special Editions, such as the “Boutique,” were introduced over the years. This involved different combinations of paint and top colors, top materials, leather or special pattern seat materials, special wheel types and upgraded equipment packages. Having only two owners from new, this brilliant triple white Boutique Edition has seen only 20,000 miles on the road. It is very original and well-kept. Fitted with an automatic transmission and air conditioning, it is begging for fun-in-the-sun enjoyment.
