This is the legendary and sought-after “Slantnose” Porsche 911S, Type 930. The look was mimicked from the 935 racecar. In 1983 Porsche’s repair department offered the option on newly ordered vehicles, the changes were executed on the raw body shell, which would retain Porsche’s anti-corrosion warranty. This option was only available for the 911 Turbo at a cost of $23,244. The options included: sloped front fenders, retractable headlamps and air vents to ensure efficient air-cooling for the brakes and engine.
Only 44 cars were converted in 1985 and another 52 in 1986. By 1987, Porsche had recognized the profits available in the conversions and created Option Packages M505/506. Another 87 examples were built that year. An eventual total of 678 Flachbau (Flatnose, or Slantnose) turbo coupes and cabriolets were built by Porsche.
This Type 930 Porsche is powered by a strong 3.3-liter, turbocharged flat six-cylinder air-cooled engine that is producing 300 horsepower. The transmission in this phenomenal car is a four-speed manual. This is indeed a M505 factory “Slantnose” that is well-equipped with a sunroof and a limited-slip differential. The Porsche is riding on nicely displayed Fuchs wheels that bring a good contrast to the Grand Prix White paintwork. The interior is tailored with Burgundy leather; and features seatbelts, full gauge display, multi-position seats, a dash-mounted radio and air conditioning.
The Porsche offered here is reported to be a low mileage example. It comes with tools, books, Porsche COA and comprehensive paperwork. Also included is the original steering wheel.
This is one of the finest Porsche “Slantnose” models on the market. This specific car sets itself apart with an impeccable finish and fit all around; and superior performance and presence that comes from a constant and exhaustive maintenance regimen.
