The Countach was designed by Bertone designer Marcello Gandini, who also styled the Miura, Stratos and countless others. The Countach had very big shoes to fill, entering the Lambroghini lineup in 1974 as the successor to the Muira. Just as the Muira was a drastic design for its time period, so too was the Countach with its sharp lines, wedge design, and unique scissor opening doors – a design cue which would become a staple for Lamborghini for years to come.

In 1985, Lamborghini introduced the Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole (QV). The engine was bored and stroked to 5,167-cc and featured four valves per cylinder, leading to the designation of Quattrovalvole. U.S. specification cars also benefitted from the addition of Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection with the European cars retaining their six Weber carburetors. The Lamborghini Countach was produced through 1990 over which time 610 Countach 5000 QVs were produced.

This 1987 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV is presented in the rare factory shade of Bianco Perlato. This beautiful Countach features the flowing lines of the European model, thanks to Franco Barbuscia at Franco’s European who expertly removed the U.S. bumpers and converted the car to Euro bumper specification at a cost of over twenty thousand dollars. The wing and unappealing (to most) U.S. mandated taillight cover was also removed. This car is a California legal example, retaining the original exhaust and smog equipment. It recently passed the California smog test and is ready to drive and enjoy.

The interior of this Countach is completed in a brilliant shade of red leather, featuring Jaeger gauges, bucket seats, air conditioning and factory original Alpine radio. Included with the car are all the owner’s manuals, service and warranty books, tool roll, space saver spare and extensive service records. The owner reports the car has recently undergone a major service and that the paint, interior and mileage are original to the vehicle. This is one of the most attractive, well-cared-for, and well preserved Countachs we have ever offered and it is an excellent opportunity to own an iconic supercar. The originality, documentation and clean Carfax make this 1987 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV an excellent opportunity to own a rare piece of Lamborghini history. Please note that the rear wing and U.S. bumpers are included in the sale.
