This 1948 DeSoto Custom Series Four-Door Sedan is presented with original period impression with a few upgrades included, starting with a newer, more robust and reliable transmission. Additional service orders indicate adding of air conditioning, 6- to 12-volt electrical, CD player in the glovebox, CD 6-pack rack in the trunk, new “cat whiskers” in all the windows, restored to original pearl white steering wheel; plus new electrical harness, spark plugs, starter and temperature gauge.
The car features a gray cloth interior with woodgrain trim throughout; the dash design has wonderful detail. Exterior features include a split front windshield with dual windshield wipers, external sunvisor, distinctive DeSoto grille, bumper guards, hood ornament, dual sideview mirrors and the emblem showing the Spanish explorer for which the car was named. The car rides on wide whitewall tires with factory wheel covers and perfectly captures the era with added comfort.
