This Packard will make aficionados of the marque do a double-take, as it is a true one-off.

Packard stylists of the period envisioned this model, a cleaned-up “Woodie” on the long-wheelbase Super Eight, for the 1949 model year but the design never reached production. An elegant proposal, it featured a wood structure for the side windows and tailgate but did without the decorative wooden panels on the body itself. The long-wheelbase chassis makes this an attractive and sleek design, seven inches longer than the production Station Sedan, and this proposal was so elegant that this cars previous owner chose to make it a reality.

Completely restored, this unique proposition combines a variety of Packard components to fulfill one stylists dream. A copy showing the original design sketches for this model is included with the sale.

An enthusiast-owned, running and driving Packard that is sure to attract all kinds of attention and interest at Packard Club meets, this one-off has been beautifully restored to a condition that Packard executives would have been proud to show off on auto show stands some 65 years ago.
