The Overland Automobile Company was founded in 1903. In the decade to follow only Ford sold more cars in America than Overland. In 1916, Overland offered seven different models that accounted for 27 different types of cars. The lineup consisted of the Models 75, 83, 84, 86 (six-cylinder), Light Four 90, Big Four 85 and Light Six 85. Besides body styles, wheelbase and engine sizes determined the category. By 1926, the company, by then called Willys-Overland, was defunct.

A handsome, large pre-WWI example, this 1916 Overland Touring is in possession of a lovely patina painted blue with black fenders, a black grille surround, and black leather upholstery. This Overland features a four-cylinder flathead engine, a three-speed selective sliding gear transmission, wood spoke wheels, and a wood steering wheel. The car comes complete with a black canvas folding soft-top, rear-mounted spare tire and hinged windshield.
