This beautifully restored 190B is an exquisite example of the craftsmanship that Mercedes-Benz put into creating their automobiles, and a great example of one of their first passenger sedans after the war. The nickname for the cars originated from the German word for “pontoon” which refers to the styling of boats. The owner states that a $50,000 show car level restoration was completed on this vehicle dating to 2008.

It has been repainted in a smooth, show quality fashion in the original colors of Hellgrun green, in 2010, with matching Hellgrun green upholstery with milk chocolate waved interior inserts. The correct headliner is installed and shows nicely along with the wood trim. The chrome throughout the car is either brand new or it is original to the car. This 190B is driven by a 1.9-liter inline four-cylinder engine that is meshed to a column shifted four-speed manual transmission.

The current owner has owned the vehicle for 8 years, it was purchased from the second owner who added a period correct Blaupunkt radio during his 42 years of owning the 190B. The owner states that the car is in great condition mechanically and esthetically. It includes the service manual, owner’s manual, Mercedes 190 Catalog, Mercedes instruction manual, and sales receipts from 1965. Additionally, this lovely Mercedes was featured on the cover of a local Pasadena magazine; and a copy of it is included with the vehicle.

This Mercedes-Benz is ready for the next owner to drive and enjoy.
