The Jaguar E-Type has many paradigms regarding its diverse attributes. Everything from race winning Twin Cam power to streamlined iconic styling. It is a car that combines many of the best design and engineering techniques all culminating into one of the best looking and driving cars from the 1960s. In its contemporary setting, the E-Type is still placed at the top of the scale in lists like the “100 Most Beautiful Cars” the Daily Telegraph released in 2008. Even in its glory days the most exclusive of manufactures acclaimed its beauty, Enzo Ferrari being one of the most notable.

The Jaguar E-Type received styling influences from the D-Type, the XK-SS and a prototype that was entered in LeMans in 1960. It was said that the body design was not based off of the current fashion, or based off of many wind tunnel tests. But rather, Malcolm Sayer, Jaguar’s chief aerodynamicist, designed and created the shape of the body on a mathematical basis, leading the car to have a very low drag.

This Jaguar E-Type is finished in its original colors of British Racing Green over a lush tan interior. It is powered by the ever-reliable 3.8-liter, 265-hp inline six-cylinder engine. Changing gears is a four-speed manual transmission. The concours level restoration of this Jaguar was completed recently in 2015. The mechanicals were fully separated and restored to the highest standards. The engine, transmission and body are all believed to be original to the car. Included with the car is a Jaguar Heritage Certificate.

In 1961, Car and Driver magazine stated the car as being “A great crowd drawer and a terrific ego booster-it’s that kind of car.”
