The name Porsche and the word “Turbo” go hand-in-hand when it comes to performance. The type 930 was unveiled as a concept in 1973 and was put into production in 1975. The forced air-induction and the air-cooled engine were second to none compared to any other automobile manufacturer. Their flared fenders, widened wheels and the iconic “whale tail” spoiler all helped Porsche’s 911 Turbo accelerate the object of desire for almost every sports car enthusiast.
The interior on this 930 Turbo is quite exclusive; it is tailored with the rare full blue leather upholstery. The sport seats have independent front and rear electric rake and height adjustments, as well as heating capabilities. A sunroof, power windows, brakes, air conditioning and a radio are onboard for added luxury. A soft four-spoke leather-covered steering wheel allows you to really feel the road as you hug those tight turns. The exterior is shown in quite lovely condition, and is finished in a desirable and rare Prussian Blue Metallic paint, which matches the stunning blue interior.
Powering the car is a turbo (Garrett K27) 3.3-liter flat six-cylinder engine with an estimated 300-hp. Transferring power to the rear wheels is Porsche’s patented synchromesh four-speed transmission that was reworked for easier gear changes. The easier shifts were obtained by altering gear lever geometry providing quicker shifts. Connected to the transmission is a limited-slip differential, assuring that power is transferred to the wheels for maximum acceleration.
The owner states that the originality and condition of this car is what originally attracted him to it. The transmission was completely rebuilt following a bad third gear synchronizer, and the receipts for this work and other are included. The engine is reported to run strongly. The owner further reports that this example has not been track-driven or otherwise “abused.” The engine bay is clean and also stated as original. The owner says he would trust the car to drive it anywhere and that during his tenure it has been stored in a climate controlled setting.
It is said to have its original Fuchs rims and that the paint is approximately 90-percent original with the front bumper needing attention due to stone chips. The interior is said to be free of rips, stains and tears. This is a European car that the owner notes has a rear working foglight, side marker lights and smaller bumpers. It is basically stock in condition, but is reported to have a B&B stainless steel exhaust system and an aftermarket radio with a lifetime XM/Sirrius radio subscription. The car was "recently serviced and any issues were taken care of." This included all fresh fluids in the systems, plus new tires are mounted, balanced and installed. A clean Carfax also is ascribed to the Porsche.
