At first glance the 356C, introduced in mid-1963, differed little from the prior 356B, and continued to use the T-6 body type, which was introduced in 1962. Porsche, however, brought the 356 concept to its zenith with the 356C, which was available in coupe and cabriolet form. The new 356 also benefited from the addition of standard Dunlop four-wheel disc brakes, a higher-lift camshaft for the 1,600-cc engine, new flat-face hubcaps and deeper “bucket” seats, courtesy of Porsche’s acquisition of Reutter, which included the future Recaro subsidiary.

The sporty 1600 SC in particular, formerly known as the Super 90, marked Porsche’s highest evolution of the 356 series prior to the advent of the 911 and was joined by the Carrera 2 and more standard 1600 C.

Presented here is a 356SC Cabriolet that is very complete and nicely presented with factory chassis #159955. The engine is a factory #811315 which is a 1.6-liter, 90-hp flat four-cylinder with twin Solex 40 PII carburetors. The engine is backed by a four-speed manual gearbox. This car is equipped with four-wheel independent suspension, disc brakes, chrome wheels and a radio. The exterior color is code #6401 Slate Grey with beautiful new red leather bucket seats. This color combination is said to be an extremely sought after combination. This cabriolet has been fitted with a new black canvas convertible top. The car comes with a spare, jack, tools and an owner’s manual.

This beautiful car is ready to be shown, driven and enjoyed.
