Ferrari introduced the 575M Maranello as a replacement for the 550 of the same name at the 2002 Geneva Motor Show. The “M” simply designated modificata (modified) referring to the myriad updates of the new model of its front-engine grand tourer. Among them was a larger and more powerful engine. The 550 used a 485-bhp 5.5-liter V-12, while the new 575 benefited from a 515-bhp 5.75-liter with electronic sequential port fuel injection. The 575M was also the first production V-12 Ferrari to feature the F1-style paddle-shift electro-hydraulically controlled transmission. The state-of-the-art gearbox provided lightning quick shifts, helping to accelerate the 575M to 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 201 mph. Braking is courtesy of ventilated four-wheel discs, and the suspension is four-wheel fully independent with coil springs, gas dampers, and anti-roll bars.

Also featured was an electronically adjustable suspension, made possible from technology developed for the Enzo. The exterior design was refined to include a smaller grille and a modified front spoiler. Lighting was updated and the interior was completely redesigned, as well. Primary gauges were clustered into a single housing, and seats included six different adjustments to electrically provide both driver and passenger with maximum comfort. Production continued through 2006, with 2,056 units produced.

Finished in Nero over Cuoio leather, this 575M was originally delivered through Ferrari North America by Ferrari of Ontario, and it is U.S. compliant. With just 4,000 miles from new, it comes with a clean CARFAX report and includes all manuals, spare keys, tools, car cover, and tire inflator. Beautifully presented, it is equipped with a factory hi-fi sound system and the desirable Daytona seats. A Tubi exhaust is fitted, though the original is also included. The car is accompanied by service records, including a more recent timing belt change.

This immaculate low-mileage example in striking colors will be the highlight of any modern Ferrari collector’s stable.
