This car was built by Michael Kubarth, regarded as the foremost authority on 1940 Fords, for his personal collection. This all-steel coupe was meticulously restored to a standard few others care to, or are able to, achieve. An extraordinary amount of research, as well as the extensive use of N.O.S. parts, went into this restoration. Special care was taken to be certain only the proper fasteners and details were utilized. The entire driveline was rebuilt; the transmission was rebuilt using N.O.S. gears and the differential was also rebuilt. The owner conveys that “nothing was overlooked so you can rest assured no surprises await you.”

Both sides of the sheetmetal were finished to an incredible degree of beauty. The undercarriage of this vehicle is as beautiful as the rest of the car. The car remained in the original buyer’s family until acquired by Mr. Kubarth. This car is especially unique in that it was one of only a handful of 1940 Fords to be factory equipped with the 100-hp Mercury engines – an option reserved for police, sheriff and fire department officials only. Nicely optioned, this car is equipped with a concours correct Columbia overdrive, rear bumper gravel shield, grilleguard, radio, locking fuel cap, inner wheel trim rings, 650x16 whitewall tires, outer swan neck mirror, oil filter and more Finished in Lyon Blue with Mohair interior, the car starts and runs well. It has been shown three times at national events and scored a minimum of 998 points each time.
