If you were looking for sheer excitement in an automobile; the 1968 Dodge Coronet R/T was an excellent choice, and remains so. Available in two-door hardtop and convertible; the 1968 Coronet brochure commented; “And if you’re wondering what R/T means, let us explain. The “R” means “Road” and the “T” means “Track” – and we’ll let you draw your own conclusions about that.”

Reported as being “fresh from a private collection,” this R/T is, according to its proud owner “sure to turn heads.” The Coronet R/T is powered by a date-coded 440-cid, 375-hp V-8 engine with dual exhaust that is paired to a console-shift automatic transmission. The rear end is the 8.75-in. Sure Grip Mopar limited-slip differential with 3.23:1 gearing. The Dodge is finished in Burgundy (factory code R) which is described by the owner as being rare; it displays white horizontal hood stripes and matching white vinyl bucket seat-fitted upholstery. This machine is optioned with power steering, driver’s side remote mirror, factory AM radio and 14-in Magnum-style road wheels. This R/T is reported as being “as clean underneath as on top” – plus it is stated to run and drive in a superb manner.
