Ford introduced the Thunderbird in 1955. The goal was to bring a car into the Ford model lineup that could compete with Chevrolet’s Corvette. The car was an instant hit. Ford produced 16,155 examples of the Thunderbird in 1955. The first generation Thunderbird was produced through 1957.

This 1955 Ford Thunderbird has benefitted from a frame-off restoration. It is presented in a tone reminisce of Thunderbird Blue, with a matching removable hardtop. The car rides on wide whitewall tires with wire wheel covers, while body-keyed fender skirts cover the rear wheels. The Thunderbird is powered by a 292-cid V-8 engine which is paired to an automatic transmission. The interior of the vehicle is completed in a two-tone blue and white featuring a radio, seatbelts and a power seat. The owner reports this Thunderbird was originally an export model, and has no heater, power steering or brakes. The restoration is of very high quality, evident in its award-winning history. This Thunderbird has won its AACA Junior and Senior awards in addition to winning its class at a Classic Thunderbird Club International event.
