Chevrolet introduced the Corvette in 1953. By 1968, the Corvette was on its third generation, sometimes more commonly referred to as the C3. The cars design was inspired by the Mako Shark II concept car. Production of the C3 Corvette ran through the 1982 model year. To date the C3 production run is the longest of any Corvette generation.

This 1971 Chevrolet Corvette LT-1 Coupe is presented in the rare shade of Steel Cities Gray (paint code 988) with body color-keyed T-tops; the rear window is also removable. Exterior features on the car include a high-domed hood, driver’s sideview mirror, Rally wheels, vacuum-operated windshield cover and headlights plus dual exhaust. The Corvette is powered by a 350-cid, 330-hp V-8 engine which is paired to an M21 factory four-speed manual transmission. It’s reported the cars drivetrain is original. The interior of the car is completed in black leather (trim code 403) with bucket seats and wood trim. The car comes with NCRS paperwork and the original tank sticker. Of the nearly 22,000 Corvettes built in 1971 (coupes and convertibles), only 1,949 customers spent the extra $483 to receive the respected LT-1 powerplant as seen with this machine.
