From the final year of production, this 852 Supercharged Phaeton Sedan benefits from an older award winning restoration that still remains in nice condition and is coming out of long term ownership. It is nicely presented in burgundy with dark burgundy accents and a tan convertible top. The car rides on wide whitewall tires which are mounted on dark burgundy wire wheels with Auburn center caps. An exposed rear-mounted spare completes the exterior of the car. This Auburn is powered by a 280-cid, 150-hp straight eight-cylinder engine which is paired to a three-speed manual transmission. This Auburn has the desirable supercharger, as when it first left the plant.

The interior is completed in light tan leather with dark burgundy carpet. The elegant damascene dashboard of the car features full instrumentation including temperature, oil, fuel and amp gauges in addition to the speedometer and tachometer. The odometer currently shows 76,928 miles, though the title states exempt. Additional interior features include a clock and a Motorola 503 radio.

Well-documented with records dating back to 1966, included are some period photos of the car during this time. The car was owned by a Mr. Frank Thomas of San Diego, California and he sold the car to a Mr. Solon Sprinchorn of Jamestown, New York in 1966. Mr. Sprinchorn owned this example until he passed in 1998, a total of 32 years. By the time the will and court documents were settled the car was sold from the estate to Mr. Frank Marcheski of Hollister, California in late 1999 until the current owner purchased the car from him in the recent past.

This supercharged Auburn has won multiple awards both from the CCCA and AACA including a First in the Touring Class with the CCCA. Additionally it won an AACA National First Prize in 2003. It is ACD Certified Category 1 (records included) and is confirmed to have its original engine, frame, drivetrain, suspension and running gear, as well as original body. Even the tags are original including the body tag plate and Serial Number plate.

Overall, this Auburn carries an older award-winning restoration that presents well, is well documented as original, and presents a nice opportunity to acquire a celebrated and real top-of-the-line Supercharged Phaeton Sedan from the last year of production.
