Buick’s advances for 1957 came from the totality of subtle exterior design refinements and engineering throughout. The result was a car that heightened the quality of American motoring with low-profile styling – “sweeping low in the sports car tradition” according to Buick. The Model 76R Roadmaster two-door six-passenger Riviera displays two gleaming bands of chrome running from the decklid to the windshield to accent the Roadmasters sweeping and distinguished profile. The traditional four VentiPort layout is also seen on the Roadmaster.

This model came from the factory with a 364-cid, 300-hp V-8 engine connected to a Dynaflow Drive transmission. Throughout the length and breadth of the Roadmaster are a host of conveniences and features termed standard, such as power steering, power windows, electric clock, windshield washers and dual exhaust – all part of the pride of Buick Roadmaster ownership. Dual mirrors, whitewall tires, two-tone paint (with some cracking), distinctive bright moldings, seatbelts, factory hubcaps, power front seat, Wonder Bar radio, vinyl and cloth interior, plus the spare and jack all combine to add luster to Roadmaster’s standing in the fine car field.
