Produced between 1955 and 1974, in both a sporty coupe and convertible, The Karmann-Ghia was a non-typical offering from a company that had built its reputation on the purely functional Beetle.
This Karmann-Ghia was purchased by the second owner in 2004 from the garage of the original owner’s Kansas home. It benefits from a high-quality restoration that was executed over a five-year period and is finished in the attractive color combination of canary yellow with a black interior. It is equipped with the iconic and durable VW 1,600-cc flat four-cylinder engine with a Weber carburetor and a four-speed manual transmission. Among the items receiving attention during the restoration process are a rebuilt engine, all-new suspension, new rubber seals, brakes, clutch and new Coker wide whitewall radial tires fitted to new chromed wheels with hubcaps. The current owner conveys that the car is a true pleasure to drive and that it runs “perfect.”
