The legendary Mercedes-Benz 450SL convertible was the only open car still produced by Daimler-Benz in 1978 to be sold in North America. On this side of the ocean, the 450SL came with both the soft-top and removable hardtop as standard features.
This Mercedes-Benz is presented in white with a red interior, while under the hood is a 4.5-liter, 222-hp OHC V-8 engine with CIS fuel injection and automatic transmission. The standard features for this model included leather interior, power steering, air conditioning, cruise control, power assisted four-wheel disc brakes, fully independent suspension, power windows, electrically heated rear window on the hardtop, automatic antenna with selective height adjustment, halogen foglamps and the aforementioned tops. The SL is a longtime admired platform from a top German manufacturer and needs little introduction to those who admire fine automobiles.
