Originally intended as a 911 replacement, the 928 ended up instead as a posh, high-speed GT coupe. The sleek hatchback body styled by American Tony Lapine appeared shrink-wrapped around Porsche’s first production front-mounted, water-cooled V-8. A rear transaxle shifted via a three-speed automatic or five-speed manual helped balance weight front-to-rear. Four-wheel independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes added handling and stopping power to match. The cockpit features a novel instrument cluster that tilted with the steering wheel. Produced from 1978 through 1995, it is powered by a 320-hp, 5.0-litre V-8 with twin-cam heads

and 32 valves.

This is one of 4,353 928’s produced for the 1988 model year. It is painted white over a brown leather interior and is equipped with power windows, power seats, cruise control, sunroof, rear deck spoiler and the five-speed manual transmission.
