The third generation body style of the Corvette was introduced in 1968. An interesting note here, it would not officially be called “Stingray” until the following year; skipping one year. Whatever name one chooses to apply, it was received rather well, and sales increased by nearly 25 percent. This little red roadster is hot to trot with a 327 V-8 rated at 350 horsepower and an automatic transmission. It is a very clean example with an award-worthy engine compartment that is possibly cleaner than when brand new. For that matter, the remainder of this first-year example reflects a very thorough restoration with nary a thread out of place. It has a white soft top, new stainless exhaust and a chassis that is ready to be judged. Turbine wheel covers and factory air conditioning round out this fine quality roadster.
