The GTSi was introduced in 1980 as an upgrade to the earlier carbureted versions and to comply with new emission standards. Although producing slightly less horsepower, the Bosch mechanical fuel injection made the 308 a more reliable car with increased throttle response from its 2.9-liter, 214-hp V-8 engine. This unit is matched to a five-speed manual gearbox with a gated shift mechanism. The removable targa top made for excellent open air motoring; as opposed to the closed GTBi variant, and are considered more desirable in Ferrari circles. This example in particular has covered just over 23,000 miles from new. Finished in the most desirable and classic color combination of Rosso Corsa over Tan, this car has resided in Florida, New York and Pennsylvania with caring ownership.
It was regularly serviced at Shelton Ferrari in Stuart, Florida, and then was sold in 1996 to its second owner in upstate New York where Sports Cars Unlimited tended to the car. The original miles are documented by a clean Carfax report available along with a chain of service/ownership history. The most recent 30,000 full service was performed three years ago with seldom usage since. Accompanying the car are manuals, and some paper receipts for service work completed. For any collector or enthusiast, this 308 GTSi serves as the complete package with excellent history, colors, low miles and documentation making it a rare opportunity to own an investment grade Ferrari.
