Who can forget Ricky and Lucy with Fred and Ethel traveling west to California from New York in their new Pontiac Star Chief Convertible in one of television’s most memorable sitcoms? Take along your friends and pretend you are the Ricardo's and the Mertz’s and re-live I Love Lucy in this Bolero Red and Nimbus Gray two-tone beauty. With masterful styling of a clean, bold look, this is one of 13,510 Star Chief Convertibles produced and like all Pontiacs; it received evolutionary styling updates for 1956. Riding on sales success, Pontiac built its six-millionth car on August 3 of that year. 1956 marked the last time the distinctive Silver Streaks would be used as decorative elements on Pontiacs.

Powered by Pontiac’s upgraded-for-1956 Strato-Streak 316-cid, 227-hp V-8 with dual exhausts and Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, this '50s era classic is loaded with style. Pontiac promised a dozen extra horses courtesy of the optional dual exhausts. The accessory Continental kit and iconic lighted Indianhead hood ornament perfectly complement the optional Pontiac wire wheel covers and wide whitewall tires. Power brakes, a power convertible top, AM radio and factory in-dash clock are desirable features on this Star Chief which also boasts a two-tone red and ivory Morrokide vinyl and nylon interior. Pontiac called the Star Chief convertible, “A very special car for a very special person!” You’ll no doubt agree when you see this striking example.
