The Pall Mall phaeton was one of the most attractive body styles produced for the American "Springfield" Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost chassis. Among the cars delivered with it was chassis no. 336KG, supplied on 18 March 1925, to H.L. Luttrell of Washington, D.C. All of the car's subsequent owners were in the Washington metropolitan area, including B.C. Norton (who, it is noted in Rolls-Royce Foundation [RRF] records, used it for "national service"); W.L. Cook of Bethesda, Maryland; Jerome Howell of Chevy Chase, Maryland; and, since 1978, Mr. Scott.

Once used to drive his children in the country on sunny days, it has been maintained out of sight in his private collection since the early 1990s, and up until recently its current location was not known to the RRF!

The car's paintwork and pleated black leather interior both appear original, with much patina, and it carries its lovely old walnut dashboard with the original Waltham gauges, including a speedometer showing 54,101 miles. All of the trim is original as well, including the drum headlamps, horizontal radiator shutters, and small tubular bumpers, while the car carries a delightful period Kamlee black leather trunk with three fitted suitcases.

Many Rolls-Royce experts are of the opinion that the American cars' chassis and bodies were superb to the British ones. Rarely do we offer such an extraordinary example as this one - complete, untouched, and ready to be shown for the first time in decades, or for use on those sunny Sunday drives with the family.
