This 1981 Pontiac Trans Am SE was originally sold new in North Hollywood, California. The car was a rust-free example prior to being restored. The restoration included rebuilding the motor and transmission; all new brakes system and a new interior.
This car left the factory with the WY84 or “Bandit Edition” package, which gave the car the same appearance as the Trans Am featured in Smokey & the Bandit movies. This car is presented in black with gold accents, a Firebird hood emblem, T-Tops and a trunk mounted antenna. The car rides on Goodyear Eagle GTII tires which are mounted on Gold Snowflake wheels.
The car is powered by a 301-cid V-8 engine which is paired to a 350-transmission. While the car originally left the factory with a turbocharger, there is no turbo on the engine anymore. Power equipment on the car includes power antenna, windows and locks. The interior is completed in tan featuring a tilt steering wheel, air conditioning and cruise control. PHS documentation is included with the vehicle. It is reported that Pontiac only produced 5,263 Trans Am SE’s in 1981.
