The 1953 Pontiac was advertised as being “new from bumper to bumper.” It was forwarded as the “perfect expression of the Pontiac idea.” The styling was called “Dual-Streak” and this was exemplified by the twin trim spars that run over the top of the hood and trunk. Gorgeous interior luxury and thrilling performance combined with a lengthier platform created a roomier and lovelier driving experience. The sweeping wraparound rear window is especially pronounced on the fantastic roofline of the Catalina hardtop coupes. This creates more visibility, more interior light and gives the look of a “hardtop convertible.”

Reported as being restored to original standards, this Chieftain Catalina is offered in attractive two-tone colors that includes the interior in complementary two-tone vinyl. The car was rust-free prior to the refurbishment. This inline eight-cylinder Pontiac Catalina has an automatic transmission and is very handsomely equipped and presented. Among the exterior features are distinctive trim elements that were part of 1950s automotive glamour, dual spotlights, twin sideview mirrors, illuminated Indian hood ornament, original exterior windshield visor, bumper guards, door edge guards, gas cap trim guard, rear fender skirts, whitewall tires, factory wheel covers and backup light. Additionally the Pontiac has a Catalina-labeled AM radio, power steering, underhood accessory light and day/night mirror.
