Dodge introduced the Challenger in 1970 as their answer the Ford’s Mustang and Chevrolet’s Camaro. It was aimed at the luxury muscle car market segment. This 1971 Dodge Challenger Hemi R/T Convertible Tribute is presented in orange with black R/T side stripes. The car rides on BFGoodrich tires which are mounted on Rallye wheels. Additional exterior features include a Shaker hood with hood pins, black rear spoiler and dual exhaust. The Challenger is powered by a 472-cid V-8 engine that is paired to an automatic transmission. Power equipment on the car includes power steering and power brakes. The interior is completed in black featuring bucket seats, a center console and a radio. Included with the car are photos documenting the build of this Challenger. While Dodge did not build any factory 1971 Dodge Challenger Hemi R/T Convertibles, it’s quite possible this is a close example to what one would have looked like had they done so.
