The winner of four NASCAR Cup Series championships in a seven-year span, Jeff Gordon helped transform NASCAR auto racing into a mainstream American sport.

Gordon signed with Hendrick Motorsport in May 1992, and he made his Winston Cup Series debut that November. Named the Winston Cup Rookie of the Year in 1993, Gordon broke through with victories in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1994. With crew chief Ray Evernham and his "Rainbow Warriors" helping to keep the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet in top form, Gordon claimed his first series championship in 1995.

Clean-cut and polished in front of a camera, Gordon helped transform NASCAR auto racing from a regional spectacle into a mainstream sport. His corporate image rubbed some of racing's old guard the wrong way, but even the critics had to acknowledge his immense skills. Gordon became the youngest driver to triumph at the Daytona 500 in 1997 and tied a modern record with 13 victories in 1998, finishing both years as the series champion. He notched a fourth championship in 2001 with new crew chief Robbie Loomis in tow, culminating an amazing stretch that produced 56 victories in seven years.

Despite his continuing successes, Gordon announced in January 2015 that this season would be his last as a full-time NASCAR driver. At the time, his 92 career victories were third most all-time, and his four championships ranked fourth.

Hendrick Motorsports Chassis #24-224 is a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo that was raced by Jeff Gordon during the 2002 thru 2004 Cup seasons. Built specifically as a superspeedway car, Jeff competed at Daytona International Speedway three years in a row in the season opening Bud Shootout race. Jeff finished in the Top Five in all of these races with a race best of 2nd Place in 2003.

Car #24-224 was built by Hendrick Motorsports team members, using Hendrick Motorsports genuine Raced Parts and includes an authentic Hendrick Motorsports 830-hp SB2 358-cid V-8 racing engine coupled to a race spec four-speed transmission. Putting the power to the pavement is a Hendrick engineering designed nine-inch rear housing assembly with locking differential. The tubular steel chassis meets the high standards that were typical for any Hendrick Motorsports racecar of the era and demanded by NASCAR, the sanctioning body. In addition, the Hendrick engineering designed heavy duty suspension and race spec brake systems were both built to handle the rigors of the most demanding race tracks on the circuit.

This unique racecar will be the first #24 racecar offering by Hendrick Motorsports since Jeff Gordon announced that 2015 would be his last full season competing for the Sprint Cup Championship. Restored with the collector in mind, this Hendrick Motorsports DuPont #24 racecar comes complete with Certificates of Authenticity, extensive documentation, a collection of race day photographs, as well as exclusive membership to the Hendrick Motorsports Certified Racecar Registry. Additionally, the new owner is invited to take delivery of the car from the Hendrick Motorsports facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. At that time, they will meet the team Crew Chief and Mechanics and receive a V.I.P. tour of the Hendrick Race and Engine shops for a behind the scenes look at race cars and power plants being built. Additionally, the new owner will get a private V.I.P tour of the Hendrick Performance Heritage Center which contains an extraordinary collection of some of the finest American Muscle Cars on earth, plus four race day tickets to a race of the purchasers choice for the remainder of the 2015 season or any race during the 2016 season. A photo of 24-224 on track signed by Jeff Gordon will also be included in the sale. Once your day is complete at Hendrick Motorsports they will ship your new car to your home for free. An additional experience will also be announced on the auction block the day of the sale.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any race fan.
