Factory brochures from Chrysler in 1965 stated that the 1965 Chrysler 300-L is “very special” and built “for the purist.” The 300-L utilized, as standard, the hair-raising FirePower 413-cid, 360-hp V-8 engine with a four-barrel carb. This example was ordered with the optional (no extra cost) four-speed manual transmission and has a sports console that is nestled between comfortable bucket seats. These exceptional cars were offered with a long list of standards that included power steering, power brakes, dual exhaust, clock, deluxe steering wheel, trunk carpet, parking brake warning light, backup lights, glove and luggage compartment lights, center-grille running light, fender-mounted turn signal indicators, windshield washers, model-specific medallions and exterior trim; plus the other basic 300 equipment.

This lovely 300-L is finished in Formal Black and has an attractive red interior. Among the other accoutrements are factory air conditioning, tachometer mounted in the forward console area, rear fender skirts and power-operated soft-top. The car has less than 19,000 miles on the odometer; however, these low miles cannot be verified. The Chrysler is reported to be in nice driving condition. It is an excellent car that is even more attractive when you realize that this is the last year for the vaunted Chrysler Letter Series 300’s and the final year for the 413-cid powerplant. This machine is eighteen feet of comfort, luxury and style in characteristic Chrysler bravura.
