With the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396, the performance started as soon as you were seated, buckled up and hit the accelerator. The 396 big-block offered in 1970 generated 350 horsepower and could power the car from 0- to 60-mph in 8.1 seconds and a quarter-mile in 15.5 seconds. The SS 396 came standard with F41 sports suspension, which included front and rear sway bars and stiffer springs.
